Intermediate-to-Senior Litigation Assistant
Boughton Law is currently recruiting for a 14 month maternity leave contract. We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Legal Assistant to support two lawyers within our Litigation Department. This position will primarily service areas of Commercial and Construction Litigation. This is a great opportunity for someone that has general litigation experience, but may be open to other opportunities, within the firm, once the contract has completed. More info here.

Administers the day-to-day record-keeping needs of the firm and communicates financial and operational information.
Ensures lawyers have the support and resources they require to provide exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities range from greeting clients at reception to clerical tasks such as labeling, closing files, managing incoming and outgoing mail, photocopying and stocking office supplies.
Manages all aspects of preparing and filing corporate documentation for clients. Corporate transactions include incorporations, dissolutions, amalgamations and many other corporate transactions.
Manages the development and execution of programs and initiatives in the areas of recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee development, performance management and employee relations.
Implements, oversees and supports technologies and applications that enhance the practice of law and service to our clients.
Provide administrative and substantive legal work to support our legal professionals. Duties and responsibilities vary based on the practice area and lawyer, and may include drafting of documentation, file management and client contact.

What is your wellness subsidy?
Boughton Law sees the importance of promoting and enhancing the overall wellness of our employees. We will subsidize up to 50% of the cost of a wellness program to a maximum of $300 per calendar year. This includes membership and initiation fees with a recognized physical fitness program and/or nutrition consulation.

What professional development opportunities do you offer?
At Boughton, we ensure a learning culture by providing staff with opportunities for professional development. We offer in-house training opportunities through our lunch and learn program and specially developed training sessions delivered by our in-house trainers. The firm reimburses staff for 100% of the cost of continuing education courses related to their current positions. All related tuition, books and exams are reimbursed up to a maximum of $750 per employee per calendar year. How many vacation days do I get?
Full-time employees are entitled to 15 days of annual vacation. Vacation entitlements increase every 5 years to a maximum of 25 vacation days.
Does your firm put on any events throughout the year?
We expect everyone to work hard and provide our clients with exceptional service, but we also value a balanced lifestyle and look to our Social Committee to make that happen! We have an annual summer event filled with great food and fun activities. We host both a family friendly Christmas event and an evening Christmas party for all employees. We have been known to host friendly and non-competitive (well we try not to be too competitive) tennis tournaments and the occasional jello eating contest.
