Johanna has influenced Canadian divorce law with her work on Dedes v. Dedes, a Court of Appeal case which clarifies the material change of circumstances test when seeking to vary orders made under the Divorce Act.

To that end, she regularly presents on family law topics at workshops and events in Vancouver, is an editor for CLE BC’s family law publications, and conducts pro bono mediations through the BC Supreme Court referral program.
