Brent is a member of Boughton Law’s securities law practice group.
Brent brings extensive organizational and strategic capabilities developed over a decade in private industry to advising Canadian public companies. His experience allows him to view the law through the matrix of needs, challenges, and opportunities that his clients face on a day-to-day basis.
Brent’s practice focuses on corporate and securities matters including listing on Canadian stock exchanges, public filing and disclosure requirements, Capital Pool Companies, and advising on public debt and equity financings. Brent has experience and is regularly involved in a wide variety of public-sector transactions including mergers, qualifying transactions, RTOs, and plans of arrangement.
Prior to joining Boughton Law, Brent articled and later practiced with a prominent regional firm in British Columbia. He obtained a B.B.A. from Simon Fraser University in 2004, passed the Canadian Securities Course in 2006 and obtained a J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2016.
