    Over the past 15 years the Tax Group at Boughton Law has  advised numerous First Nations in British Columbia and the far North involving hundreds of millions in  investment funds regarding  tax effective First Nation Trust settlements and related business partnership structures as well as updating First Nation Trust structures to take full advantage of current tax interpretations by the government of Canada.

    Boughton Law has also advised numerous Asian interests on investing in Canadian real estate developments and the tax issues associated with financing those investments and dealing with BC’s unique restrictive foreign owners tax regime, as well as advising on the tax consequences of Canadians returning to Canada from foreign jurisdictions such as Hong Kong.

    In addition to a wide variety of tax effective  corporate restructuring planning Boughton Law’s Tax  team has advised on hundreds of estate plans, including the estate freezes involving Family Trusts, Joint Partner and Alter Ego Trusts, over the past years.
