Boughton Law is proud to announce that Lorraine Burchynsky, Administration Manager at the Vancouver-based law firm, has been elected as the 2016-17 President of the British Columbia Legal Management Association (BCLMA).
The BCLMA is a non-profit organization with more than 400 affiliates representing over 140 member firms in British Columbia. As the largest organization in the province dedicated to providing professional development, support and networking opportunities, the BCLMA endeavours to enhance the competence and professionalism of legal services management provided by individuals of the organization within the legal community of British Columbia.
The BCLMA hosts important educational events, biannual conferences, discussions and monthly meetings, publishes a quarterly newsletter, coordinates a mentorship program, and produces a number of critical financial benchmark surveys each year for the legal management community.
“Lorraine Burchynsky is an integral part of the Boughton Law team and we are immensely proud of her for being named president of the British Columbia Legal Management Association,” said Jordan Dixon, Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Boughton Law. “The honour is two-fold, given this is the first time in the organization’s history that a member of Boughton Law has held this top position and we are confident that Lorraine will bring the same passion and drive to the BCLMA that she brings to Boughton Law every day.”
Ms. Burchynsky has been with Boughton Law for the past three decades. As the Administration Manager, she manages the team in Office Services, Central Records and Reception and oversees all facilities related operations and projects. Alongside her involvement in BCLMA, she is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and The Legal Office Management Association.
“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to lead such an important and impactful organization within British Columbia’s legal services community,” said Ms. Burchynsky. “As president of the British Columbia Legal Management Association, I look forward to an outstanding year ahead in developing and supporting our members as well as continuing to provide the tools and services that have served the community so well for the last 44 years.”
