Bruce Harwood is Counsel in the Immigration Practice at Boughton Law. With more than 30 years of experience in the legal field, Bruce provides comprehensive and strategic advice to individuals and corporations on all aspects of relocating to Canada on a permanent or a temporary basis. Bruce acts on behalf of a number of major Canadian companies in various industries, including construction, biotechnology, engineering and manufacturing, transportation, food and agriculture, and the IT sector. As a former Officer of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration, Bruce brings in-depth legal insights of all aspects of immigration matters.
Bruce represents both corporate and individual clients in a variety of matters under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Citizenship Act and ancillary legislation such as the Canada-United States- Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), formerly known as NAFTA, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), as well as provincially-based nomination programs.
This work includes strategic and practical solutions for permanent residence applications as well as Intra-company transfers of executives, managers and specialized knowledge workers to Canada under the International Mobility Program operated by the Department of Citizenship and Immigration. Bruce also provides assistance to Canadian employers seeking to use the ESDC Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) program to hire Temporary Foreign Workers.
Bruce assists individuals to achieve their Family Reunifications goals, overcome criminal inadmissibility issues and obtain a temporary resident status in Canada as a visitor, student or worker.
