Lauren B. Morris, Vancouver Litigator Lawyer at Boughton Law

Lauren is an associate with Boughton Law’s litigation group and has established a diverse civil litigation practice. She has specialized expertise in commercial litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, and estate litigation.

Lauren has represented clients at all levels of the Canadian court system, and incorporates various alternative dispute resolution procedures in her practice, including mediation and arbitration. Her recent work includes:

  • Insolvency matters including foreclosures, bankruptcy, secured and unsecured realizations, and receiverships
  • Business disputes including corporate governance matters, shareholder disputes, partnership and joint venture disputes, director and officer liability, and oppression claims
  • Commercial litigation including claims of fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duties
  • Wills and estate litigation including wills disputes and wills variation claims
  • Indigenous law including advising First nations clients in commercial disputes and on constitutional issues

Lauren completed her Bachelor of Arts at McGill University where she double majored in Philosophy and Political Science and graduated with distinction in 2017, and studied at l’Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in France. She obtained her Juris Doctor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2020. During her studies, Lauren was awarded a Factum Prize and the Spirit of the Laskin Award at the Laskin Moot. Lauren also provided legal services to low-income clients at the Rise Women’s Legal Clinic.

Lauren is fluent in French.
