Maria Starko is an associate in Boughton Law’s Wills, Trusts, and Estates, and Personal Tax group. She graduated from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law in 2023, where she consistently earned Dean’s List recognition throughout her academic career. Maria was called to the BC Bar in September 2024.
During her time in law school, Maria received several notable awards, including the Soby Boyden Lenz Scholarship in Family Law and the Nicholas S. Rafferty Conflict of Laws Course Prize. She also earned the STEP Canada Law Prize in Estate Planning and Trusts, underscoring her strong academic performance in the field.
Maria has gained practical experience in estate planning, corporate transactions, and estate administration during her time as an articling and summer student with a regional firm. She has also co-authored several legal publications on trust and estate matters, demonstrating her knowledge and commitment to her practice.
