Webinar – The Rule of Thumb for Foreign Worker Recruitment: I.T., Engineering & Construction

Watch our webinar below, presented by Boughton Law’s shareholder Bruce Harwood, where he discusses the general rule of thumb for a Canadian based employer seeking to bring temporary foreign workers for every skill level.

He provides an in-depth overview on Labour Market Impact Assessment from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) applications, and guidelines required by Service Canada.

In addition, the LMIA process is not the only method of seeking entry of foreign workers. He explores various avenues such as Free Trade agreements negotiated by Canada with other countries; some of which contain Labour mobility clauses to allow certain specified occupations to avoid the LMIA process. There are programs such as the Global Talent Stream and the British Columbia Nomination Program that can address recruitment of foreign workers without the necessity of filing an LMIA.

Throughout this webinar, we examine foreign worker recruitment in the context of the three specified industries : I.T., Engineering and Construction.
