Mid-Year Milestones: Recognitions That Reflect Our People and Practice

As we face the midpoint of 2025, we are taking a moment to reflect on several milestones that have shaped our year so far—recognitions that speak to the strength of our people, our culture, and the direction we are moving as a firm.

This year marked the launch of A.C.T. – Advocates for Community Transformation, a firm-wide program designed to deepen our engagement with the communities around us. A.C.T. encourages our lawyers and staff to dedicate their time, skills, and resources to charitable initiatives that they are passionate about.

“A.C.T. represents who we are beyond the workplace,” says Shantela Blaeser, Chief Operating Officer. “It’s about empowering our team to give back in meaningful ways—whether that is through volunteering, mentorship, or partnerships with local organizations. The impact we make in our community inspires us and the work we do for our clients.”

Earlier this year, Boughton Law celebrated being named one of BC’s Top Employers and one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for 2025. We were also proud to see three of our lawyers—Jean Yuen, Karin Buss, and Peter Anderson—recognized in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

“These awards continue to affirm what we already know—our people and our work stand out,” says Blaeser. “They are a reflection of the momentum we have built and the values we prioritize: excellence; personal and professional growth; and purposeful leadership.”

The Top Employers recognitions, curated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, highlight organizations that lead with people-first policies, flexibility, and professional development. At Boughton, we continue to shape a workplace that prioritizes both individual and collective growth.

Our continued presence in the Lexpert Directory reinforces the depth of our legal expertise and the reputation we have built among clients and peers. Recognition in this peer-reviewed guide reflects the consistent quality of work across our practice areas and the trust we are proud to have built.

With over seven decades of experience in Vancouver, Boughton Law remains a full-service firm rooted in collaboration, innovation, and client-first service. As a member of Meritas, a Chambers-ranked global alliance of independent law firms, we are also positioned to support clients across borders with seamless, global insight.

We are proud of what we have accomplished so far in 2025—and we look forward to continuing to work together with the energy and momentum that have brought us to today.
