Madeline E. Benn is an associate in Boughton Law’s Business Law Practice Group, where she practises Corporate and Commercial law with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions. She advises clients across a broad range of industries on the structuring, acquisition, sale, and ongoing operations of their businesses, and regularly manages complex transactions.
Madeline’s practice includes advising on share, asset, and hybrid transactions, and overseeing all stages of the transaction process, including due diligence, negotiation, and completion. She also maintains a broad corporate and commercial practice, advising on corporate governance and drafting and negotiating key business agreements, including shareholders’ agreements, master services agreements, distribution agreements, and other strategic commercial arrangements.
Madeline is known for her practical, pragmatic approach and her focus on delivering commercially sound, solutions‑oriented advice tailored to each client’s unique business needs. She values building strong client relationships and providing clear, actionable guidance that supports both immediate transactions and long‑term business objectives.
Outside of her legal practice, Madeline is actively involved in the community. She serves as a volunteer board member and 2nd Vice President of Tennis BC, the governing body for tennis in British Columbia where she plays a leadership role in advancing strategic initiatives focused on sport development, grassroots participation, and expanding equitable access to tennis across British Columbia.
Prior to her legal career, Madeline was an NCAA tennis player and a two‑time ITA All‑American.
