George E.H. Cadman, K.C. appointed president of Kiwanis Children’s Fund

George E.H. Cadman, K.C., of Vancouver, British Columbia, has been appointed president of the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports Kiwanis International’s mission of serving the children of the world. A Children’s Fund trustee since 2014, he previously served as treasurer and president-elect.

A member of the Kiwanis Club of Vancouver since 1986, he served as club president in 1992-93. In the Pacific Northwest District, he served as lieutenant governor and chairman of the Laws and Regulations Committee. He is a past president of both the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada and the Pacific Northwest Kiwanis Foundation.

Cadman holds a diamond-level George F. Hixson Fellowship, a diamond-level Mel Osborne Fellowship (Kiwanis Foundation of Canada), an Emerson Fellowship (Pacific Northwest Kiwanis Foundation), a diamond-level Walter Zeller Fellowship, a Centennial Award and a Legion of Honour distinction.

Cadman brings valuable governance experience to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund board. He is a Shareholder and senior counsel with Boughton Law Corporation in Vancouver. He has served as secretary-treasurer of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade; is Chancellor (chief legal officer) of the Diocese of New Westminster, Anglican Church of Canada; served as a director on the board of the Vancouver International Airport Authority (2008-17), chairing its Governance Committee (2012-17) and served as  a member of the Board of Examiners of Notaries Public in British Columbia (2004-18).

Between 2001 and 2005, Cadman served as Chair of Meritas Law Firms Worldwide, bringing to  the Children’s Fund board a strong international perspective on the global mission and service of the Children’s Fund in its relationship with UNICEF and other partner organizations.
