Boughton Law Named One of BC’s Top Employers for 2025

Boughton Law is pleased to announce that the firm has once again been recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers for 2025.

“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow in their careers,” says Shantela Blaeser, Chief Operating Officer at Boughton Law. “A strong workplace culture doesn’t happen by accident—it’s something we continue to invest in and evolve with our team.”

Now in its 20th year, the BC’s Top Employers competition—organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers— highlights organizations that set the standard for workplace culture, benefits, and employee support. Boughton Law was selected for several key initiatives, including:

  • Balanced Work Structure – A 35-hour workweek (with full pay), flexible work arrangements, and a hybrid model that allows employees to balance professional and personal commitments.
  • Career Growth & Development – Access to in-house training, mentoring programs, and tuition subsidies to support ongoing learning.
  • Comprehensive Benefits – Associates parental leave top-ups of up to 100% for 17 weeks, mental health coverage of up to $900 per year, and employer-paid health benefits.
  • Referral Program – Employees are encouraged to support recruitment efforts through generous referral bonuses ranging from $3,000 to $15,000, depending on the position.

“As we look ahead, our focus remains on creating a workplace that supports long-term success, professional development, and personal growth,” says Blaeser. “Boughton Law will continue to be a place where professionals thrive and innovate together.”

Rooted in Vancouver since 1949, Boughton Law is home to a team of over 120 lawyers and professionals, offering the full-service capabilities of a larger firm while maintaining the collaborative and team-oriented culture of a smaller practice. The firm’s partnership with Meritas, a Chambers-ranked network of independent firms, further extends its reach and resources globally.
