Starting today, our office kicks off Staff Appreciation Week—a week-long celebration recognizing our incredible team.
A tradition for more than 40 years, the event was originally conceived as a simple ‘staff lunch’ and way to say ‘thanks’ for the team’s hard work throughout the year. But through staff feedback, a bit of creativity, and a desire to do things differently, the event evolved into something so much more, boasting daily events, prizes, and multiple opportunities for the team to celebrate together.
And this last point—celebrating together—is particularly important in our post-pandemic world. The pandemic showed us that people can work from anywhere, and that there are benefits to a nimble work environment. However, being apart also highlighted for us how much we missed those in-person interactions with colleagues because those interactions lifted our spirits, strengthened our connections, and built our resolve to do our best for each other and our clients.
That’s why I’m so excited about the variety of activities planned for this week. We feel there are lots of opportunities for our team members—those in office and remote—to interact and, ultimately, reap the benefits of those moments.
We care deeply about the personal and professional growth of our team. And while it’s important to recognize the dedication of our colleagues during this annual celebratory week, we are focussed on building and nurturing an environment where our teammates thrive and are recognised for their contributions throughout the year. Why? Because we see their dedication and know how truly valuable they are.
